As Balzac said, writers are only secretaries of the society: whatever society dictates to me, I write down. One out of a thousand can be a hero and say, "I only listen to the Muse." Balzac killed himself by writing so much; but most of us want rather to live, and have to live from something , cited: http://voluntareuropean.ro/?library/forging-constance-forging-constance-book-1. Cyberpunk was a big deal in the 80s and in the 90s. Dick and William Gibson, movies like Blade Runner, and anime such as Akira heavily influenced video games. The result was games with a dark, dystopian future, high technology and low life. We've gathered Japanese games from this era to see how the cyberpunk setting created masterpieces and made all of them looking absolutely badass , e.g. http://batteryworld.com.ua/?ebooks/over-the-adrenaline-edge-volume-92-short-stories. The reason why ‘cyberpunk’ didn’t really last that long was because, unlike William Gibson’s assertion that people would rebel against computers, is because they embraced the technology instead , source: http://voluntareuropean.ro/?library/the-northern-star-the-beginning. The Girl Who Was Plugged In, by James Tiptree, Jr. In this Hugo-award winning 1973 novella, corporations are king and computers allow people to control artificially grown bodies. Military sci-fi tales relate the adventures and exploits of military troops in outer space. Giant, multinational corporations have for the most part replaced governments as centers of political, economic, and even military power. Protagonists in cyberpunk writing usually include computer hackers, who are often patterned on the idea of the lone hero fighting injustice, such as Robin Hood.[19] One of the cyberpunk genre's prototype characters is Case, from Gibson's Neuromancer.[20] Case is a "console cowboy", a brilliant hacker who had betrayed his organized criminal partners http://voluntareuropean.ro/?library/tokyo-yakuza-11-mob-dance.

In the 1977 movie, Obi-Wan described this mysterious entity as “what gives a Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things; it surrounds us, penetrates us; it binds the galaxy together.” In the 1980 sequel, Yoda—a character, created by Jim Henson, who looked suspiciously like Kermit the Frog and sounded suspiciously like Fozzie Bear—instructed Luke to “feel the Force around you: here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere!” Such language, smacking of the period’s flirtation with natural mysticism, gave way in the new movies to an explanation more in keeping with our current fascination with molecular biology: the Force, we learned in The Phantom Menace, was actually the product of microorganisms in the blood , source: http://voluntareuropean.ro/?library/weight-of-the-heart-bruna-husky-book-2. The adaptation of science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke 's novel as 2001: A Space Odyssey won the Academy Award for Visual Effects and offered thematic complexity not typically associated with the science fiction genre at the time. Its sequel, 2010, was commercially successful but less highly regarded by critics. Reflecting the times, two earlier science fiction works by Ray Bradbury were adapted for cinema in the 1960s with Fahrenheit 451 and The Illustrated Man online.
